Roberto + Scheila Chihuahua Mexico Wedding

Since I have lived here, I have been so fortunate to meet a lot of my husbands friends.  What is more unique is when they become a part of your family.  We learned of how they met and their love story when we photographed their engagement session.  How during a mission event with their church they began to message each other which lead to an special inside joke only they would know.  Later, that small spark grow to a flame and when Roberto hung a hand painted banner with the words "Will you marry me?" all the while serenading her with his lovely guitar and voice, she knew her answer was yes!

This adorably in love and happy couple reminds us of why love is so powerful and how when we know who is the right person for us, we never want to let them go.  I am beyond words for these two, our friends, our family.

Anais + Mario | Hotel Riu Mazatlan Beach Wedding
Be-Lated Honeymoon

I can't believe that we are at our 6 month mark!  I'm liking this whole marriage deal.  Wake up next to the person you love, endless cuddling before falling asleep, eating together as a family of two at our table, and traveling.

When we got married, we didn't have the time to go on a honeymoon.  So when Gaby + Fer booked us for their wedding in Puerto Vallarta, we decided to extend the trip a week and finally have a honeymoon.  My husband and I love to backpack and camp and thanks to my awesome dad, who is just like us, got us these amazing backpacks.  We travelled through the entire Bahia de Banderas in the Puerto Vallarta coast.  We enjoyed summer weather, amazing warm waters, cool people, and got to see the famous Isla Marietas that's being posted all over Pinterest.

I have to say that it's true what they say: "A couple that travels together, stays together."  There is nothing like watching a sunset over the beach and turning around to see your husband enjoying it at the same time.

Thank you God for such an amazing time and for family!  At the bottom I'll list all the places we travelled.  For now, enjoy the slideshow of our trip!

Shramek Family | Santa Monica Pier Family Session

Where do I begin with this amazing family.  They are truly like no other family I have photographed.  I have known Ruth since high school.  I have photographed this family since little M was 3.  I photographed their engagement session, their wedding, family sessions, and when little S was born, her newborn photos.  Now that S is a little older, we were able to squeeze in a session down by the Santa Monica Pier.

They are my biggest supporters, good friends, and I feel like I'm part of their family!  Each of them, including Ruth's parents and grandparents, hold a very special place in my heart!  Helping them document their gorgeous growing family is what I consider to be an honor!

I love you guys very dearly!

Jackie

Published : Bridal Guide

At the beginning of this year, I wrote down my goals for 2012.  Both my personal and business.  Among them, I wrote down "Get Published".  It was more of a dream than an actual goal.  Until my client, Jessica, submitted a photo into a contest that was being held by a local paper.  The grand prize: Front cover of the Bridal Guide at the biggest bridal show in her town.  Voting commenced and I voted every day, as did her family and friends.  I saw the numbers climb and sure enough, she won!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read her email letting her family and friends know that she had won with their support.

"Shut. Up.  I'm going to be published?!"  That was my initial reaction, of course.  She later mailed me a copy of the bridal guide and I was in awe of it.  I still couldn't believe it, even though it was in my hands.

I can't thank her enough for submitting the photo and her family and friends for voting as much as they did.  It was incredible to be able to that dream off my goals list.   2012 is proving to be a remarkable year, thank you God!

First of all, I want to thank these beautiful people for putting up with crazy flying bugs that attacked us the whole session.  Borderline, gross.  I had no idea that it would be that bad.  And they toughed it out light champs!  Despite all the bugs, we had such a great time with such gorgeous light!

Thanks Stacy + family for toughing it out.  We got some amazing photos and I can't wait to show you the rest!!!

With ♥,

Jackie

Happy Thursday!

From the archives | Inland Empire Wedding Photographer

I was going through the archives today while looking for images to add to the website. When I originally worked on my website, I simply added photos that I liked rather than choosing photos that would attract the kind of clients that I am looking for.  Which is you, by the way ;).

While looking,  I came across these two.  This is from a wedding I had the opportunity to second shoot for

Brent Stanely

out in Yucaipa last year.  These were taken right before twilight.  When the sun is teasing you with setting.  When the light is buttery and fleeting.  Love this kind of light.  I never published the images.

Here is their official debut...
